Welcome to Amwood Art
Original prints made by hand
Hello! I am Anthea Wood and I am an artist and printmaker living in rural Northumberland. It has taken a while (a little more than 40 years in fact) to embark on my artistic career but here I am. I have heard it said we are who we are going to be at 7 years old; it feels as if my creative streak has now come home to roost.
I have always drawn and painted, but have more recently been challenged and inspired by print-making. Oil painting and pastel commissions sit alongside watercolours and lino prints in my online gallery. Although the medium varies, I think my style can be described as illustrative. I look forward to seeing where the artistic flow takes me as I develop new techniques and build on old ones.
What you find here is a the story of my return to art and I look forward to learning and sharing as I develop and create.
Thank you for visiting my website. Feel free to browse and contact me with any questions.

New Card Stockist!
I am delighted to announce a new local card stockist! The Ingram Cafe is a special place, hidden away in the Ingram Valley. It provides welcome refreshments for the many walkers and visitors to the area and has a beautiful selection of gifts and local artwork. It also boasts a little museum hidden at the back where you can find out more about the ancient hill forts that make this area such a special place.
