ANTHEA WOOD

Hello! I am Anthea Wood and I am an artist specialising in painting and printmaking.

I work from my welcoming studio near Wooler, Northumberland, creating paintings and original prints inspired by the local scenery. Oil paintings sit drying on the studio bench, while linoprints dangle from overhead, awaiting their next layer of ink.

Returning to art in later life has opened up my world. I am passionate about developing my own art whilst also supporting others in the creation of theirs.

My studio is open for linoprint workshops - where consuming tea and cake is an important part of the process! I draw inspiration from my community and enjoy sharing the joys of creativity locally through Inky Fingers kids art club as well as through the delivery of  community initiatives in partnership with the Glendale Gateway Trust. I also run Arty Footsteps - a Northumberland National Park Experience which enables sketching and painting in the great outdoors.

I am committed to improving and developing my own painting and printmaking practice and read, sketch, study and create at every opportunity. In fact, you may see me out and about sketching locally! My works are on display at the wonderful Ingram Cafe in the heart of the beautiful Breamish and Ingram Valley, a great source of inspiration to me.

Thank you for visiting my website. Watch the video below to find out more about me and my art!
